Camp Fletcher isn’t just for kids!

Our campers aren’t the only ones who get a summer packed with fun and adventure at Camp Fletcher; our counselors get a great experience, too! From leadership experience, team building exercises and more, our counselors gain important life skills from their first day of training to the last day of camp. Our counselors have FUN, but they also learn a lot about their skills and their passions!

Counselors at Camp Fletcher work hard, and they have a lot to show for it. Not only do they get to work with kids in the great outdoors, but they also gain valuable work experience! For college students majoring in athletics, sports management, coaching, teaching, dance, theater, fine arts, child development, child psychology or management, summer camp jobs can provide practical and meaningful experiences. Additionally, camp counselors get to work under fantastic camp professionals – they are learning from the best!

Not only do our counselors gain work experience, but they get to test skills that employers look for, like team building, leadership, communication, conflict resolution and problem solving. Counselors have to work together to build a great camp environment, but they also have to be responsible for themselves and their campers. These responsibilities can be challenging, but we know our counselors are up for the challenge and will be better for it at the end of the summer!

Working at a camp is not only an effective way to get job experience and build skills, but it’s also really fun. Our counselors work with kids of all age groups and spend hours each summer on Camp Fletcher’s beautiful 300 acre site. Swimming, canoeing, archery, hiking, and sleeping under the stars are all part of the job description! Our counselors become a family, and they have experiences during their time at Camp Fletcher we know they will never forget.
