Counselor Spotlight: Jeral!

Today we’ve got another great counselor spotlights for you! May has been such a busy month, and we can’t wait for June 1. Our team has been hard at work putting together the perfect summer staff for this year, and we hope you’ll get a chance to learn something new about all of our great counselors before summer programming begins. Counselor training starts next week, and today we are so excited to introduce you to Jeral!

Jeral is 22 years old and from Birmingham, Alabama. He currently attends UAB and is seeking a degree in Information Systems. Jeral was a counselor at Camp Fletcher last year, and we are so happy he is back this summer!

What made you choose Camp Fletcher?
I enjoyed working with the campers and other counselors last year. I really wanted to come back and see old and new faces.

What previous experiences do you have that you think will make you a great counselor?
Other than working at Camp Fletcher last year, I worked two summer jobs that were part of the FOX6 Kids and Jobs program. I worked at a summer education camp at Woodlawn High School and another at a recreation center. I worked with the kids there in similar ways I would work at Camp Fletcher, but without the outdoors and the woods.

What are you most excited about for summer 2015 at Camp Fletcher?
Seeing all the old and new campers and staff. I want make this year a lasting memory like last year.
