Tuesday was a pretty exciting day at Camp Fletcher, as we welcomed Sherrel Stewart on site to talk about what we do at Camp Fletcher. Ms. Stewart is the Managing Editor of the Southern Education Desk at WBHM, and she came to Camp Fletcher as an alumni working on a story about positive youth development. It was such a treat to have her there interviewing staff, including our Camp Director Janis, as well as counselors and campers.
After answering her questions, our campers had a few questions of their own to ask Ms. Stewart about her experiences at Camp Fletcher in the 1960’s! We were so honored to welcome a former camper back, and to be able to talk with her about our programs and the role Camp Fletcher plays in the community. The story will air on Wednesday, July 29 at 5:45 am and 7:45 am on WBHM, and features Lauren Parish, a camper, and Courtney King, a counselor. If you weren’t able to catch the story when it aired on WBHM, you can listen to it here. We cannot say thank you enough to Sherrel Stewart, the Southern Education Desk and WBHM for featuring Camp Fletcher’s programs that are helping children and youth in the community!
